Student work experience: Newport Wetlands

This is a student work experience opportunity which is offered to help the student(s) to gain skills, knowledge and experience.

It allows the hosting team to share their knowledge and gain experience in working with young people whilst promoting NRW and the wider environmental sector.

Additional Information

What will you do?

Help reserve staff with monitoring water levels, salinities, shrill carder bees,  moths, butterflies and birds. Help with practical work such as minor repairs and cutting back brambles along footpaths.

Who will you be working with?

Land management officers.

Where will you be working?

Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve.

What other information is relevant to the placement?

You will need to bring a packed lunch each day. You will need wellingtons or walking boots, waterproof clothes, sunscreen (depending on the weather).

If your application is successful, you will be required to complete a Placement Agreement which sets out the responsibilities and expectations for the placement.
